It hasn’t been quite a week since SHOT Show 2022 came to an end, and while writers and marketing teams are sorting through their emails, there is plenty to share with everyone. Some people messaged me to check out certain new products for them, others just wanted to know what was going on. Overall, it was great to be back! I am not a fan of Las Vegas, but I can handle it for one week…SHOT Show week!
Let’s address the elephant in the room right away. Yes, attendance was down, but come on, did you really think it would be back to capacity? I didn’t and no one I talked to thought that way. In fact, I appreciated clearer aisles as it allowed me more one-on-one time with each person at each booth I stopped at. The entire show was positive!
First, it was great having my brother Ben fly out from NY. I know he wasn’t thrilled about leaving sub-zero temps and getting a sun burn in Vegas, but sometimes you have to make sacrifices. It was his first SHOT Show and he had a great time, learned a lot, captured photo and video and had some great interactions with people.
Industry Day at the Range:
There are so many great people to thank and companies to mention. Here is what I was impressed with:
- Browning Rifle in 6.8 Western – The rifle is awesome and will be great for hunting. Yes, it’s a new caliber, but it’s still fun to shoot!
- Winchester Ammunition Copper Impact – 6.8 Western – The new Copper Impact ammunition was accurate and will be a great hunting round.
- RAMBO Bikes Megatron AWD e-bike – with 80 hrs of battery life and that it can haul me up a hill sold me!
- DRD Tactical ARES – Adaptive Retention System – I’ll be testing this out in the coming weeks
- Uintah Precision with their 13″ SBR in 6.5 CM shooting out to 960 yards – Not legal in Cali, but an impressive build!
- CADEX Defense CDX-MC KRAKEN – Chambered in 300 Norma and accurate out to 1097 yards (we both tagged the 8″x24″ target) – Dead on accurate, little recoil and fun to shoot.
- Real Avid – The new Master Gun Vise is superb and will be a great addition to anyone working on or cleaning their firearms. It’ll even be useful to archers, and that’s a big deal for me.
There will be more to share as I dig through my emails, IG messages and sort through some more photos. IDATR was a great time. It was the warmest it’s been in six years and I am thankful I brought my short-sleeve shirts and sunscreen because I needed them. It was great to be back at SHOT Show and I look forward to hearing from others who were there to see what impressed them. If you want to hear more about a particular firearm or gear that was released, let me know. I’d be happy to elaborate if I know someone is interested.
Al,
Glad you survived Vegas. SHOT is a great time and I intend to return at some point. Your test ride on the Megatron looked far more entertaining than mine. Regardless, is it not a spectacular machine? It is certainly on my radar!
Thank you for sharing your experience for those of us who were unable to attend this year.
Be LIMBITLESS,
Aaron Ritter
